Sarah’s practice is directly concerned with walking outdoors and being with nature. The inspiration behind her work stems from observing its energy and flow coupled with the need to capture moments of calmness and clarity.
Through her investigations into the complexity and essence of nature, she aims to create energy and movement through the layered application of black and coloured inks that are intuitively applied to surfaces. Moments of reflection and contemplation are created both through the systematic process of printmaking and the patterns and forms that emerge.
Sarah describes her work as making connections through the immediacy of drawing and printing multiple layers, exploring and finding balance through fluid and honest mark making. She explains that process is central to her practice and drawing and mark making is central to that.
