Mark Hooley

Mark Hooley began drawing from an early age. Growing up in Watford, he created panoramic scenes of Star Wars battles, gladiator fights, and super hero scenes on multiple sheets of A4 paper in his pyjamas with his brother Ben on Saturday and Sunday mornings. He completed his degree in Illustration at Brighton University in 1998. Whilst at University, Mark got sidetracked by the world of clubbing and began DJing. Music has been a constant source of inspiration for him and now often informs his varied work as a screen-printer, painter, illustrator, designer and occasional animator. Mark has worked as a member of the Brighton gig poster group BRAG and runs workshops in screen-printing. He is currently working on a number of on-going projects, including a graphic novel, children’s books and art pieces. Occasionally he finishes projects and paints canvases. Mostly his kids beat him up and force him to make biscuits. Mark Hooley has been exhibiting paintings and prints across the South Coast.
