I am always drawn to character and scene, mining memories and observing western cultural phenomenon. I’m fascinated with exploring a sense of character and place that has been built to last and yet can be so fragile and transient when you scratch below the surface. As we weave from one ephemeral moment to the next, what do we leave behind in the places around us? I think place can be a sort of collective memory, from our first impressions to the pits of nostalgia, shared and forever changing no matter how much we say it always looks the same. Who we are is often hard earned and yet it seems to me we are forever on the cusp of dissolving, displaced, looking for a place to belong.
